I have some good news for you and for myself.Today I returned from the ardennes so I made the first
trip with the caravan and the new exaust fitted.Here are the results:
Weight for the Discovery with 2 passengers and some luggage: 2.5 tons
Weight for the caravan : 1 ton Total weight as always 3.5 tons
Same traject as always total km for the trip :500 kms
At one of the ascents near the city of "LUIK",before I could climb in 4° gear at 75 km/hr New I reach 80 km/hr
The consumption in gas oil is decreased from 11 liter/100km to 10 liter/100km.
The engine is much more powerfull by overtaking some slower vehicles at 85 km/hr.
Average speed on the highway with caravan: 90 km/hr .
I am very pleased with these results,I will not use the extra HP for speed but for more extra reserve in power when towing
my caravan,it's a great feeling driving a Discovery 1 from 1990 with 290000 kms on the tacho,tuned by myself
and equipped with your wonderfull exaust.

"So what's it like? Well, it's the fastest Land Rover bar none that I have ever driven. The turbo now seems to deliver pressure much earlier than before and you can really feel the boost from about 1700 RPM. By 2500 RPM things start to get a little crazy! If there are flat spots, I haven't found any yet. It doesn't smoke."

Just wanted to say thanks for the chip, exhaust and air filters. The car is
flying and feels so much more fluid through the rev range and yet I haven't
mentioned the sound of it. You said Audi Quattro, that's an understatement
it sounds fantastic, like a fire breathing V8,  how the hell am I supposed
to keep this a secret from my wife!
I'd like to go further with it really, so what would you recommend next that
isn't too expensive but would give me maximum increase in power?

"I am writing this in English, so that the friendly people at Twisted Performance / Yorkshire 4x4 can read this. I visited them to check out their performance parts and they certainly are worth a visit if any of you are in the area.

As a result of my visit I have been able to try out the TD5 Plug-In digital performance upgrade on a defender during my summer holiday. And I must say it really makes the defender td5 a better car. Even I who am all thumbs managed to install the box in 10 minutes and the sound of the engine were much better the instant the td5 started compared to standard. The extra hp is very noticeable and removes flat spots and improves the acceleration. In 4 gear there now is power all the way from 40 km/h up to over 110 km/h. Before I wouldn’t even considering going 110 in 4.! Torque is also noticeable better, but you can never have enough of that can you :-) ? Fuel economy is also better with 1 dl pr. 10 km (0,8). When more money is available I will definitely look into more performance upgrades from Twisted Performance."
